Junior Session

Saturday, August 12, 2017 – Sunday, August 27, 2017
Tuition: $3,200

Who should apply: violin, cello, and piano players currently in grades 4-7; viola, bass, woodwind, and brass players currently in grades 4-8

Step 1: Complete an online application form OR send a completed application form to:

Step 2: Email admin@kinhaven.org to submit a recorded audition.

Please play 5 to 10 minutes of a piece that is representative of your playing. This can come from a single work, or selections from multiple pieces or etudes. Play what you are confident about and familiar with, and avoid auditioning with a piece that is new to you.

 

Senior Session

Friday, June 23, 2017 – Sunday, August 6, 2017

Tuition: $6,700

Who should apply: Students in grades 8-12 who play a violin, viola, cello, bass, flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, trumpet, horn, trombone, tuba, percussion, or piano

Young Artist Seminar

Sunday, May 28, 2017 – Sunday, June 4, 2017

Tuition: $1000

Who should apply: individual musicians and pre-formed chamber groups ages 18-28

Step 1: Complete an online application.

Step 2: Email youngartistseminar@kinhaven.org to schedule a live audition on one of the dates below OR send a recorded audition.

Prepare two movements which demonstrate contrast in style and technique. Movements should be played in their entirety.

Adult Chamber Music Workshop

Wednesday, June 14, 2017 – Sunday, June 18, 2017

Tuition: $900; includes all musical activities, room, and meals.
Commuters: $800; includes everything except room and breakfast.
Non-participating guests and family members: $300; includes room and meals

Who should apply: string, wind, and piano players, 18 years or older, of all levels of experience

Choose a solo, etude, or piece of chamber music that will give us an accurate idea of your abilities. If you send a chamber music performance, be sure that your own playing can be heard clearly. For a sonata, piano accompaniment is not necessary.

Please be sure to label the recording media and case with your name and the work performed.

Adult Piano Workshop

Tuesday, June 6, 2017 – Sunday, June 11, 2017

Tuition: $950 ($400 for on-campus guests) or $850 if commuting ($300 for commuter guests)

Who should apply: intermediate to advanced level pianists, ages 18 or older

A home recording or copy of a live performance is fine. The recording can be on a cassette (audio or VHS), CD or DVD. A solo work is preferable. However, a piece of chamber music with the piano clearly defined will be acceptable.
