Summer Programs

Senior Session
Presenting glorious opportunities for high-level music making, personal growth, and life-long friendships, Kinhaven's Senior Session is comprised of 90 young musicians engaged in chamber music, orchestra, and spontaneous music-making. The experience is one of community, shared learning, and mutual support in which friendship and encouragement are always present.

High-school age young adults are challenged by a variety of chamber and orchestra repertoire. Co-Directors Tony Mazzocchi and Deborah Buck lead a faculty of professional musicians who specialize in working with talented and dedicated young people. Learn More.

Junior Session
Each year 70 middle-school age musicians take part in Junior Session. Students are selected based on audition, but once admitted the competition ends. Co-directed by Sandy Dennis and Marty Knieriem, our dedicated faculty of professional musicians works to match students with chamber groups and orchestral repertoire that challenge and delight them. Learn More.

Adult Chamber Music Workshop
Open to string, wind, and piano players who are college age or older, the Chamber Music Workshop emphasizes supportive music making among players of all levels and experience.

Director Mary Watt and her team of professional musicians match chamber groups with repertoire prior to arrival so participants, who are assigned to two groups, have an optimal music making experience. Learn More.

Adult Piano Workshop
Focusing on four-hand piano repertoire, the Piano Workshop is open to intermediate to advanced level pianists, college age or older. Participants are paired, and four-hand repertoire is chosen by each duo or assigned by the faculty, led by workshop Director Leander Bien.  Learn More.
