Recording Tips | 2011 Faculty
Introduction
Each year 70 middle school age musicians take part in our two week long Junior Session. Co-directed by Sandy Dennis and Marty Knieriem, our dedicated faculty of professional musicians works to match students with chamber groups and orchestral repertoire that challenge and delight them. Every piece our young artists study and rehearse culminates in public performances which happen weekly on Saturdays and Sundays.
Each student receives at least one private lesson per week, but often
teachers meet more frequently with students to review their progress, help them prepare the week’s repertoire, and encourage productive practice habits. The faculty reside on campus during the sessions and everyone shares delicious, home-cooked meals together.
Age Range
The Kinhaven Junior Session accepts 70 students from grades 4 through 7. Violists, bassists, wind, and brass players currently in the 8th grade are also eligible.
Dates for 2013
The 2013 Junior Session will run from August 11 - August 25, 2013. Students are accepted for the entire time only.
Tuition for 2013
Tuition for 2013: $2975. Tuition balance is due by July 1. To make a secure online tuition payment, click here.
Financial Aid
Each year, funds are allocated for tuition reduction. These funds come from foundations, individual donors and other sources. The generous gifts to the Annual Fund by alumni and friends are a significant part of this effort. Accordingly, financial aid is available to qualified students who demonstrate fiscal need. If you would like to attend Kinhaven, but are concerned about the tuition, we invite you to apply for financial aid. Please contact the Junior Session Directors directly with any questions or for more information. Link to Contact Page.
How and When to Apply
